Distributed Conference on Power, Royal Agency, and Elite Women in the Hellenistic and Roman World – from September 2021 to June 2022

We are thrilled to announce to all CA members and anyone interested to attend that the full programme for the Distributed Conference Power, Royal Agency, and Elite Women in the Hellenistic and Roman World along with zoom coordinates for all sessions is available on the website of the Waterloo Institute for Hellenistic Studies.

The conference will be held across eight sessions beginning on 24 September 2021 at 17h00 UCT, and subsequent sessions will be held roughly every month.

The first session will feature the following two papers chaired by Tim Howe:

-Sheila Ager, University of Waterloo: PowerParameters, Paradigms, and Possibilities

-Alex McAuley, Cardiff University: Archein and/or Archesthai: Exploring the Vocabulary of Female Power

Each session will be approximately 90 minutes in length, and all can be accessed via the same Zoom link on the WIHS website.
