Out of Chaos theatre company has launched a new competition for pupils studying GCSE or A-Levels in the UK.
When the world went into lockdown in March, we started a project in conjunction with the Center for Hellenic Studies; reading scenes from a different Greek tragedy every week with actors drawn from across the world. The series is called Reading Greek Tragedy online (you can view all episodes here).
We’ve discovered a lot about these plays by performing them – and now it’s your turn!
Here’s how it works:
You record a scene from Medea and submit it to us by 26 March 2021. Our prestigious panel of judges will watch all submissions and then announce the winners in April 2021.
For a list of passages (taken from John Harrison’s translation), and further information on how to upload your videos, see here.
Thanks to generous funding from the CA, we are able to offer a first prize of £250 and a trophy, with two second place prizes of £125 each.
Every entry will receive a participation prize!
