University of Urbino Carlo Bo: Summer School in Greek Metrics and Rhythmics

We are pleased to announce the 10th edition of the Summer School in Greek Metrics and Rhythmics, that will take place online from 6th to 10th September 2021. The Summer School is organized by the Dipartimento di Scienze della Comunicazione, Studi Umanistici e Internazionali (DiSCUI) of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, in cooperation with the Centro di Ricerca di Ecdotica e Analisi di Testi Letterari (CREAT).

Lesson: I. An Introduction to the Ancient Theory of Metres and Rhythms.

  1. Ancient Greek Verses. Case Studies from Lyric Poetry.

Groups are formed; homework for the final test is assigned.

Lesson: Tragedy. Case Studies from Aeschylus’, Sophocles’ and Euripides’Cantica.
