RAC/TRAC 2024 Call for Sessions

DATE: Friday, May 26th 2023

Call for Session Proposals Open for the 15th Roman Archaeology Conference / 32nd Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference

RAC / TRAC 2024 will be held in London, Thursday 11 April – Sunday 14 April 2024

Main venue: UCL Institute of Education

Session proposals are invited for the joint Roman Archaeology Conference / Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference to be held in London, 11-14 April 2024. Proposals are welcome on all aspects of Roman archaeology, broadly conceived, and international in scope. The standard session format comprises up to six 20-minute papers, plus introduction and discussion, but alternative formats are possible, including debate or workshop sessions with shorter presentations and more discussion – please contact the organisers for advice if planning such a session. Proposals are particularly invited on current research themes including new scientific applications in Roman archaeology, decentering and decolonizing Roman archaeology, globalization and materiality, and archaeological ethics, but all regional, sub-period and thematic topics are welcome.

Submissions should not include a list of speakers at this stage. The Organising Committee will decide on the session programme in late May/early June, and the Call for Papers will open in later June 2023.

Session organisers will then decide session line-ups, but there will also be General Session(s).

Registration will open in September 2023.

Please note that RAC/TRAC 2024 will be an in-person-only conference, but one which is designed to be inclusive and accessible. Further details on these matters, including provision of bursaries for attendance, will be available soon.

Submit session proposals to: ractrac2024@gmail.com
