The Geddes-Harrower Chair is a visiting Professorship, which, over the past century, has brought many of the world’s foremost scholars of classical culture to Aberdeen. It was established through a bequest by John Harrower (Aberdeen’s Regius Professor of Greek, 1886-1931), and is named in honour of Harrower and of his father-in-law, William Duguid Geddes (Regius Professor of Greek, 1855-85, and subsequently Principal of the University). In recent years, the scope of the Chair has been widened from its original focus on Greek Art and Archaeology to encompass Classics, broadly conceived.

Note: this is not a Classical Association event – please contact the organisers directly with any enquiries.
