Professor Pierre Schneider (University of Artois, Arras) will be speaking on the topic: “Les sociétés méditerranéennes antiques et les mondes de l’océan Indien: a research blog devoted to ancient Indian Ocean studies”
The talk will take place at 18:00 BST (19:00 CEST) on Thursday 23rd April (online via MS Teams)
Professor Schneider is an expert on a range of subjects related to links between the Mediterranean world and the Indian Ocean area (6th century BC- 6th century AD), including long-distance trade, the history of luxury in the ancient world, and Classical geographic notions of East Africa, Arabia, India, Indian Ocean region.
