Oxford Latinitas Project Summer Schools: Latin and Ancient Greek

‘Supportive, innovative, effective’: Oxford Latinitas Project Summer Schools return in 2021!

The Oxford Latinitas Project teaches Latin and Ancient Greek through the active method, using the ancient languages as the primary medium of communication in the classroom. The student speaks and listens, rather than simply reading and writing. The classes are enjoyable and accessible, grammar and syntax are taught rigorously but with a light touch, the atmosphere is constantly encouraging, and progress is usually rapid.

‘I never thought I could make this much progress in two such short weeks.’

For the second year running, we are excited to offer a series of intensive immersive online summer classes. Dates are 12th to 23rd July for beginner through intermediate Latin and beginner through intermediate Ancient Greek; and 26th July to 6th August  for Advanced Latin. Classes will run for 2 hours every working day for a total of 20 hours of tuition per course. Teaching is delivered by experienced tutors in groups of at most 6 students. The cost of the course is £450, and scholarships are available. Applications are open until 31st May.

‘I enjoyed Latin immensely, and in a way I had not previously expected to.’

‘I regained my confidence in my abilities and my desire to continue reading the classics.’
