Summer School ERGA in Ancient Greek Scholarship, 20-24 July 2026, Hamburg

This year’s Summer School in Ancient Greek Scholarship “ERGA. La letteratura erudita nella Grecia antica. Esegesi, lessicografia, grammatica” (4th edition) will take place in Hamburg, Germany, from July 20th to 24th, 2026.

The teaching language will be English. The summer school offers course-work consisting of theoretical lectures and practical exercises covering the field of research on scholarship in Ancient Greece, with a focus on lexicography, manuscript studies and exegesis. It is jointly organised by the Etymologika project of the Academy of Sciences and the Humanities in Hamburg, the University of Hamburg, and the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC)  (Prof. Dr. Christian Brockmann, Dr. José Maksimczuk, Daniel Deckers), in co-operation with Università della Basilicata, Università degli Studi di Genova, Università di Firenze, Università di Pavia, and Università di Roma Tor Vergata, and will be taught by scholars from all involved institutions.
