London Summer School in Classics 2025

The course is non-residential. Students will need to arrange their own accommodation.

Languages offered:

– Classical Greek and Latin at all levels (in person and online)

– Beginners’ Biblical Hebrew (tbc) (in person and online)

– Beginners’ Hittite (online only)

– Beginners’ Sumerian (in person only)

– Beginners’ New Testament/Koine Greek (in person only)

– Beginners’ Sanskrit (in person and online)

– Readings in Sanskrit (advanced course) (online only): This course is open to students who want to read unadapted texts in Sanskrit. Students who have already covered the basics of the Sanskrit language will get a chance to revise grammar while reading actual Sanskrit texts, while more advanced students will be able to broaden their reading experience. We shall be reading passages from the Rāmāyaa, Kathāsaritsāgara and Kumārasambhava; students will be able to propose short excerpts in Classical Sanskrit that they wish to read in class.
