About Han

After growing up in Saudi Arabia, Han studied Classical Civilisation at the University of Nottingham. Since graduating with a first, she has continued with an MRes in Archaeology which focuses on the unique and prominent role of the Ancient Greek goddess Tyche in the Roman Near East. Considering a range of material culture at sites such as Palmyra and Dura-Europos, she explores the significance of city personifications and their roles as emblems for civic identity. Her other interests include ancient numismatics, furthered by a postgraduate course at the British School of Athens in 2022, interaction with ancient art, both in the ancient context and museum spaces, and in cross-cultural interactions in the Ancient Near & Middle East. Alongside her masters, she works in historical outreach where she has collaborated with a diverse range of museums, charities, and organisations. Utilising social media as a tool for public outreach, she creates accessible content on the latest archaeological discoveries, art history and classical reception. Her primary goal is to inspire the next generation of ancient historians by making the ancient world feel relevant to all.
