The London Summer School in Classics 2025 was held in person and online at University College London 15th-24th July.

The summer school welcomes students of all backgrounds and linguistic abilities, ranging from complete beginners to advanced readers. We offer all levels on Ancient Greek and Latin language, as well as individual classes in Biblical Hebrew, Hittite, Sumerian, Sanskrit, and Koine Greek. In addition, students were able to attend afternoon lectures on a variety of topic relevant to the ancient world, delivered by academics specialising in a vast range of Classics-related subjects. On the last day, there was a party for all students and staff in the Department of Greek and Latin at UCL, 3.30-5pm, to celebrate the end of another successful Summer School.

Our attendees range from school-aged students preparing for GCSEs and A-levels, to University-level students looking to brush up on their skills or wishing to acquire a new skill in preparation for further study, to mature students with a keen linguistic interest. It is a fantastic (and highly affordable) opportunity for anyone with an interest in classical languages or simply wishing to try something new and exciting.
