While the production of these videos was far more demanding than anticipated, they were extremely rewarding to produce, and it was a great privilege to meet such inspirational teachers and students across the six schools*.

PL looks at the benefits of introducing Latin in primary education, showing how it links to all areas of the curriculum Filmed at three primary schools in the North West and West Midlands, enthusiasm for Latin was clearly expressed by children from all backgrounds.

SC explains how Classics can be introduced by stealth into other subjects, such as English and History, and shows how links with the classical world can enrich students’ learning in these areas. Filmed at schools in Derbyshire and Somerset, students talked about how valuable and enjoyable they found their exposure to Classics.

In conclusion, there was clear evidence from both projects of the potential for, and value of, Classics in the state sector across both primary and secondary education.
