Workshop: Developments in Ancient Language Pedagogy

Call for papers 

The Department of Classics at the University of Reading is holding an international workshop to discuss applied ancient language studies and new technological advancements, on Friday 19^th May 2023.

The areas of discussion may include, but are not limited to:

• Applied language studies (the use of spoken Latin and other ancient languages as a teaching method)
• Software and teaching tools
• AI and in particular ChatGPT
• Practical activities used to enhance ancient language teaching

This will be a hybrid workshop, planned to run from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm UK time. We are currently seeking contributions (20 minute talks and 10 minute Q & A) from teachers of ancient languages at both secondary and university level both in the UK and from the US and Canada.
