The Latin Programme Summer School 2023: ‘Craft and Creativity in Ancient Rome’

The Latin Programme Summer School returned for its fifth year in July 2023, offering a week of free and engaging classics sessions to Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils.

This year we trialled a new hybrid format for the Summer School, combining a long-awaited return to face-to-face teaching with the increased accessibility and popularity of the online format. Expert facilitators delivered sessions on the theme of ‘Creativity and Craft in Ancient Rome’, allowing pupils to explore poetry, drama and dance, while learning about the ancient world in new and stimulating ways.

The overwhelming majority of participants said that attending the Summer School made them want to learn more about the ancient world.
