Our digital Internship Scheme is open to applications until Tuesday 9 June 2026

Are you passionate about the ancient world and working in the charity sector? Would you like to gain professional development experience, work with the UK’s Subject Association for Classics and join our mission to make the ancient world accessible to everyone?

We are delighted to offer a small number of paid, remote internships this summer to keen applicants aged 18 or over and based in the UK. There is one option for an in person position at our office in Hemel Hempstead. The deadline to submit your application is Tuesday 9 June 2026 at 23:59 British Summer Time.

Successful applicants will work with the CA team and provide support for a range of classical projects, as aligned with our mission. You will gain experience of the CA’s work to support the teaching and learning of classical subjects and widen access to the study of the ancient world, whilst developing and applying your skills accordingly. This internship opportunity will suit someone who is keen to learn more about a role in communications and marketing, charity management, publishing, or Classics outreach. There is scope to bring your own ideas to the role too.

Example of Tasks

The intern will perform tasks, potentially including but not limited to the following examples:

Content creation – for example, using tools such as Canva or Mailchimp to design digital outputs, for use on web and social media platforms.

Digital assistance – for example, updating webpages using WordPress, using tools such as Eventbrite or Forms to facilitate events.

Research and benchmarking tasks – for example, to support the co-production of CA Conferences or podcast initiatives.

Publishing assistance – for example, liaison re book reviews.

Data collection or analysis – for example, to assess project effectiveness, to find gaps in outreach or research data.

Further Details

There are multiple timeframes available, as detailed on the application form. The applicant will be expected to work a total of 35 hours per week across the selected 6 or 8 week block. The CA’s Flexible Working Policy and Homeworking Policy will apply to these working arrangements. Successful applicants will be paid at the National Minimum Wage according to their age. Further details will be made available to successful applicants.

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an automatic ‘thank you for your application’ message.
