Robert Harris in Conversation with Mary Beard and Andrew Wallace-Hadrill
22nd October 5pm, Faculty of Law
Best-selling historical fiction author, Robert Harris talks to Mary Beard and Andrew Wallace-Hadrill about his new novel Agrippa. In particular they will discuss the unique challenge of bringing Agrippa to life on the page. Despite commanding Rome’s armies, building iconic aqueducts, and helping establish an empire, Agrippa left behind no letters, speeches, or written records in his own voice. Harris will explore how he navigated those historical silences to reconstruct the story of a monumental figure history nearly rendered voiceless.
